Our 3 Geography teachers are based in the modernised Humanities floor in the main school building.
The course aims to develop skills of geographical enquiry, asking questions, collecting and presenting information, writing in a structured way and drawing conclusions. Students learn about places from local to global scales, the environment and how it is impacted by natural changes and human processes.
Keeping lessons interesting and engaging our students is high in our priorities and we use ICT and fieldwork as a means of teaching and learning. We are proud of the results our students achieve in Geography, with GCSE and A'level scores consistently above the national average.
In Year 7 - 9 all students receive 3 Geography lessons over a two week period. The Curriculum covers a wide variety of subjects including; climate and weather, tourism, earthquakes and volcanoes, population and development and the geography of crime, global fashion and sport.
In Years 10 - 11 we offer the 2 year WJEC Syllabus B GCSE Geography course as an option.
