Religious Education

Religious Education is delivered by our two RE teachers. Our aims are to encourage students to think about, question and respond to religious ideas and practices and to understand the value of religion on the lives of individuals, communities and nations.

Students are given the opportunity to think for themselves, to examine evidence, think about their own positions and beliefs, to express those ideas and be prepared to listen to and respect the views of others.

Key Stage 3

Students in years 7 - 9 receive 1 lesson per week, encompassing:

  • Christian beliefs about God and Jesus
  • Sikhism
  • Christian ways of life
  • Judaism as a living religion
  • religion and human relationships
  • Buddhism
  • Christian teachings on origins, purpose and destiny
