The start of the year is without doubt going to be a very busy term.

To mark the 60th Anniversary of the school, a service of celebration was held at St. Peter & St. Paul’s Church. April will see a visit from our local M.P. to view the Science block following its recent refurbishment. “Horizons” in partnership with Northamptonshire County Council, brought their interactive mobile to MSSC for students in Years 10 to 13 to view and to raise awareness of the hundreds of apprentice opportunities in and around Northamptonshire.

Charity fundraising is very much in evidence and these were just a sample of the many charity events that have gone on this term. They demonstrate how committed our students are to the school ethos of community service, by reaching out to vulnerable sectors. Visits and trips saw the Language Department take a trip to Barcelona (pages 16-17) and the “Gifted and Talented” group dipped their fingers into a variety of experiences outside the normal curriculum (page 15). Student achievement in competitions, independent learning and sporting success all embrace what we constantly try to achieve at MSSC: Achievement through learning, Service to the community, Pride & determination, Individual responsibility, Respect and consideration, Excellence and high expectations.

Here is wishing a very successful 2017 to you all!
